Our initiative aims to support ecology and create green spaces in Latvia by providing free walnut planting materials to cities and municipalities.
We strive to create beautiful parks and green areas where people can enjoy nature, harvest fruits, and engage in outdoor activities.
This program not only contributes to urban greening but also strengthens community bonds and raises awareness about the importance of environmental protection.
Together, we are building a greener and more sustainable future, leaving a legacy for future generations!
We donated seedlings to the Kuldigas District Municipality, and the first public walnut garden with 40 trees was created in Latvia
walnut.lv was established to promote ecology and improve the quality of life in Latvia
Our founder, Boris Ostrobrod, inspired by his love for nature and his desire to create better conditions for the community, established walnut.lv. We continue his legacy, honoring Boris and following his values.
This project has become a symbol of our commitment to greening and restoring natural resources, as we deeply believe that nature play a big role in everyone’s life.
How does this work?
(01)
Meeting with a representative of the city/village
(02)
Selecting a site
(03)
Preparation for planting: digging holes, bringing in black soil
(04)
Organizing the boarding procedure
(06)
Tree garter/whitewashing
The landing process looks like this:
(05)
Planting day
After planting, we discuss the subsequent care of the saplings: tying and whitewashing. We are ready to help with this or provide recommendations
We meet with representatives of the local government/city to discuss the park concept and the natural features of the area
We determine the ideal site for planting, select the number of walnut saplings, and decide where to place them on the plot
The municipality/local government prepares the site: digs holes, brings in topsoil (if necessary)
We organize the planting: choose the day and invite participants. We recommend inviting local residents and schoolchildren who want to contribute to the beautification of their hometown
On the planting day, we gather with the representatives of the municipality/local government, conduct an instruction session and a small ceremony, and then plant the walnut saplings.
We believe that creating parks and green spaces not only improves ecosystems but also brings people together, providing places for relaxation, communication, and outdoor activities.
By planting walnut trees, we help the people of Latvia enjoy the fruits of nature and contribute to the health of the environment.
As part of the "Boris" initiative, our company provides free walnut planting materials to cities and municipalities.
Let’s unite for nature: plant nuts and create parks!
Together, we can create a greener, more beautiful, and sustainable future for our region
